Over een laag snaren en druipende synthetische akkoorden worden we in een staat van zelfbewustzijn gebracht, iets langer dan een minuut opbouwend voordat we ons in het begin van ‘Confessional Lock’ laten vallen, wat gemakkelijk aangezien kan worden voor een moderne afstammeling van Pink Floyd’s ‘Comfortably Numb’.
Gitaren klinken door een wijd getrokken ruimte terwijl Kyle’s zang zich uitstrekt over een muzikale oneindigheid. Hij is sterk, het teken van iemand die de volledige controle heeft over zijn talent. Hij gebruikt verschillende stemmen in het hele nummer (en op het hele album zelf), iets dat je naar binnen trekt, vooral op een koptelefoon.
Over a layer strings and oozing synthetic chords we’re brought into a state of self awareness, building for just over a minute before dropping us into the start of ‘Confessional Lock’ which could easily be mistaken for a modern descendent of Pink Floyd’s ‘Comfortably Numb’.
Guitars ring across a widely drawn soundscape as Kyle’s vocals stretch across this musical infinity. They’re strong, the sign of someone who’s in complete control of his talent. He uses different voices throughout the song (and throughout the album itself), something that draws you in, especially on headphones.
