Gerald Moizan

Gerald

Gérald was born on the 30th of September, 1979 at St Germain en Laye. As a teenager, he eagerly listened to his father’s music (who was heavily influenced by rock – Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, ac / dc, Carlos Santana.)

Brought up in an atmosphere where rock was king, he continued this trend by listening to new hard rock groups such as Guns n’ Roses, Nirvana, Aerosmith and the Red Hot Chili Peppers . As music styles changed and evolved, he adopted the ‘trash’ movement of the 1990s. He was very much inspired by groups like Machine Head, Obituary, Sépultura, Nail bomb, etc.

After a meeting with a musician friend of his parents during which he was presented as a young guitarist, he was introduced to artists like Joe Satriani, Steve Vai and many others… which provoked something of an internal musical trauma.

At the age of fourteen he took his first guitar lessons and by 15 he’d performed in his first concert as a rhythm guitarist in the Amboise M.J.C. musical group. His second group, formed of four different musicians, gave him the opportunity to learn to play percussion and bass. He recorded his first track with the group Mandragore in 1996.
