HEADSPACE began innocently enough; as a way for a close circle of musician friends to reconnect. There were no preconceptions of launching a prog metal band, and certainly no visions of grandeur.

“We didn’t really have any idea of where we were going with it,” says Wakeman. “We just did it purely to be together. We’ve been friends for a long time, so our thinking was that if we were going to get involved in a project, why not do it with our mates, the way you do when you’re 15 or 16 years old. I think the idea when we got together was to not try and do something or be something. It was more a case of ‘Let’s get together and see what happens, and we’ll follow the music in the direction it takes us.’ It became clear quite quickly when we started playing with song ideas that it was going to be a prog band. I don’t know who we were kidding (laughs).”

In 2007 HEADSPACE released the EP ‘I Am’. They played a few (2 to be precise) shows and then decided that they could play Wembley as support for Ozzy. In the five years after these shows they wrote and recorded the album ‘I Am Anonymous’ (2012). Their second album ‘All That You Fear Is Gone’ was released on 26th February 2016
