‘In Control’ is the title of the sophomore album from the Dutch rockband Hardland. Even more than on the self-titled debut that was released in 2017. The band has succeeded in forging its own sound from very different influences.
From heavy rock, AOR, 80’s wave to accessible (power) pop, with a particular love for music from the seventies and eighties. It is further underlined with the cover Are ‘Friends’ Electric, a big hit in 1979 for the British synthesizer band Tubeway Army. Furthermore, In Control contains original work written by the band themselves: cool rock songs, alternated with a single ballad.
Just like on the debut, nothing was left to chance. Mastering engineer Sean Magee once again unleashed his magic at the Abbey Road Studio in London.
The artwork of In Control, done by Frans Mensink, looks very professional again and fits perfectly with the atmosphere of the music.
