The group’s music is a marriage of rock and symphonic music, letting loose of the psychedelic, philosophic and really strong emotional charge.
“The Light Year” was created in April, 2004. The same year they recorded their first CD, a conceptual live-album named “Sky Way”, along with music video.
The group composed a rock cantata called “Generation XXI” and performed it for the first time in 2006 together with symphonic orchestra, choir and various noted Georgian singers, involving up to 150 musicians (it was the first ever rock cantata in Georgian history). It was recorded and issued as their second live album.
“The Light Year” has held many solo and joint concerts in Georgia, also several concerts abroad when invited to various music festivals.
