Following their critically acclaimed 4th album \u2018Hegaiamas: a song for freedom\u2019 and its massive success in the prog metal community, Norchestrion\u2019 is by far the band\u2019s best and most ambitious album to date. In the album\u2019s 66 minutes prog metal fans will see Need experimenting with new elements as well as maintaining all those characteristics that made them one of the most unique band\u2019s in today\u2019s vast progressive metal landscape.<\/p>\n
Need once again teamed up with hector.d at HD Factory (Mother of Millions, Poem, Calyces, Slayerking) for the mixing and mastering of the album while the visual\/video elements for the first single as well as the ones that will follow were handled by HK Visual Creations (Sabaton, Rotting Christ, Nightrage, Hail Spirit Noir) that also did the animation videos for \u2018Rememory\u2019 & Alltribe\u2019 from \u2018Hegaiamas\u2019. \u2018Nemmortal\u2019, the first visualizer from \u2018Norchestrion: a song for the end\u2019 is already out to amazing feedback so far. The album\u2019s cover artwork was created by the band\u2019s longtime collaborator Dimitris Tsoutsas (also responsible for the covers of \u2018Orvam: a song for home\u2019 & \u2018The wisdom machine\u2019, Need\u2019s 3rd and 1st albums respectively).<\/p>\n
With almost 15 years of active presence in the metal scene, greek progsters Need were for long the best kept secret of european prog metal. But after the critical acclaim of their last, fourth album \u2018Hegaiamas: a song for freedom\u2019 that was released in 2017, Need have been working relentlessly to spread the word and their music to the metal masses. The promo cycle of \u2018Hegaiamas\u2019 ended with an impressive 72 shows wordlwide. Summer of 2017 saw them touring for a month in US\/Canada with Sweden\u2019s Evergrey (25 shows). The collaboration went so well that the two of them teamed up once more for a euro run in the fall that took them through 10 countries in the span of 25 days (22 shows). 2018 was as busy for the band that did a 10-date headline greek tour while in the summer\/fall they appeared in numerous festivals including the 20th anniversary edition of ProgPower Europe in the Netherlands and SoundArt Fest in Romania. Following the feedback from Romania, Need also did their first headline balkan tour in October of 2018. They were also selected to open for Fates Warning, Pain of Salvation and Coroner in their respective greek dates.<\/p>\n
All of that didn\u2019t happen from nothing though. 2014\u2019s album \u2018Orvam: a song for home\u2019 started the buzz in the underground and gave Need a slot in ProgPower USA in the same year. A live DVD from that show entitled \u2018Orvam: a song for Atlanta\u2019 was released a year later in the fall of 2015 building the momentum. 2006\u2019s \u2018The wisdom machine\u2019 and 2009\u2019s \u2018Siamese God\u2019 were the band\u2019s first two albums that started it all and led Need to tour Europe with Jon Oliva\u2019s solo band (of Savatage fame) in 2010. In Greece Need have established a very strong fanbase headlining the all greek prog festival \u2018Prog Over Athens\u2019 in December of 2017 with over 700 people in attendance. In the past they\u2019ve shared the stage in their respective greek dates with the likes of Symphony X, Candlemass,Threshold, Evergrey, Jon Oliva\u2019s Pain among others while in 2011 they appeared in the greek edition of Sonisphere Festival opening for bands like Iron Maiden, Slipknot, Mastodon and Gojira.<\/p>\n
Na hun veelgeprezen 4e album \u2018Hegaiamas: een lied voor vrijheid\u2019 en het enorme succes ervan in de prog metalgemeenschap, is Norchestrion \u2019verreweg het beste en meest ambitieuze album van de band tot nu toe. In de 66 minuten durende prog metal-fans van het album zullen Need experimenteren met nieuwe elementen en alle kenmerken behouden die hen tot een van de meest unieke bands in het huidige uitgestrekte progressieve metal-landschap maakten.<\/p>\n

De promocyclus van \u2018Hegaiamas\u2019 eindigde met een indrukwekkende 72 shows wereldwijd. In de zomer van 2017 toeren ze een maand lang in de VS \/ Canada met het Zweedse Evergrey (25 shows). De samenwerking verliep zo goed dat ze in de herfst opnieuw samenwerkten voor een euro-run die hen in 25 dagen door 10 landen bracht (22 shows). 2018 was net zo druk voor de band die een Griekse tournee van 10 dagen deed, terwijl ze in de zomer \/ herfst op tal van festivals verschenen, waaronder de 20e jubileumeditie van ProgPower Europe in Nederland en SoundArt Fest in Roemeni\u00eb. Naar aanleiding van de feedback uit Roemeni\u00eb, deed Need ook hun eerste balkan tour in oktober 2018. Ze werden ook geselecteerd om te openen voor Fates Warning, Pain of Salvation en Coroner in hun respectievelijke Griekse data.<\/p>\n
Dat gebeurde echter allemaal niet uit het niets. Het album \u2018Orvam: a song for home\u2019 uit 2014 begon de buzz in de underground en gaf Need een slot in ProgPower USA in hetzelfde jaar.
